Treatment Pitch & Feedback

In our previous Media Class, our task was to present a treatment that encompassed a brief idea of our music video and what we want to include within the music video. We discussed location, camera , mise-en-scene and editing as a way to provide conceptual, narrative and performance ideas. We discussed how certain elements such as the lyrics and performance will provide messages throughout the song, such as the word "locket" symbolising how she has entrapped her emotions and fears to fall back in love. Through our pitch, we were able to providing a brief but detailed illustration of our aims and ideas for our music video, covering the following:

-A summary of the narrative idea and how it links to the lyrics/ sound of the track. The role of performance, conceptual elements.
-The music videos that had inspired us.
-Casting/ actors, props, location(s)
-Ethical considerations
-Length
-Audience
-Channel for broadcast.

We received a small number of feedback that can be beneficial for the development of our music video. A fellow peer suggested if the music video could show a male character facing heartbreak and we provided our reasons for staying with a female actress as we are intentionally providing a vessel to Sia's emotions and we will be continuing her story. We were suggested by Vanessa, our teacher that if we are to use red paint across the walls, we have to consider precautions to avoid damaging a location or asking permission to use the location and having the freedom to provide "wreckage". We were suggested to use a lock-up garage or an area that we have access to, without causing problems.
